  • Finals weekend in Paris... you know what that means! It's time for Joel, Kim and Chris to reunite for their final catchup from Roland Garros 2024, the tournament which saw Iga Swiatek win her third Roland Garros title on the trot with a storming victory over Jasmine Paolini, and Carlos Alcaraz beat Alexander Zverev in five sets to become the youngest ever male player in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam on 3 different surfaces.

The trio discuss whether beating Iga Swiatek on this court and surface is the toughest ask in women’s tennis, assess Jasmine Paolini’s two runner up titles this past fortnight and what Alexander Zverev still needs to do to win his first Grand Slam title.

With Coco Gauff claiming her first Slam doubles title (to complete a singles and doubles slam set aged 20) and Mate Pavic completing the career Golden doubles slam, this tournament has certainly been one for the stat lovers.

The trio also reveal the winner of Collect A Set which once again went down to a tiebreaker and there is some very special Wimbledon related news announced from Tennis Weekly HQ...

  • It actually feels like the French Open... join Joel and Chris as they discuss all the semi final action at Roland Garros including a gruelling, survival of the fittest five set epic from Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner plus Alexander Zverev overcoming an off colour Casper Ruud.

On the women's side they discuss Iga Swiatek reaching her fourth final in Paris and just why Coco Gauff struggles so much in their head to head, plus Jasmine Paolini leading the Italian charge by making both the singles and doubles finals in Paris (encroyable!).

Elsewhere, the duo discuss Zverev's court case in Berlin reaching a decision, whether Alcaraz-Sinner is this generation's Federer-Nadal rivalry and they preview the singles finals with some of their own predictions.

  • Kim and Chris catch up on the Quarter Final action from Roland Garros, which saw top seeds Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka ousted by lower ranked opposition, Jannik Sinner become the new World Number 1, and Novak Djokovic withdraw from the tournament with a knee injury.

Iga Swiatek cruised through against Wimbledon Champion Marketa Vondrousova whilst Coco Gauff made her third straight slam semi with a comeback win over Ons Jabeur. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner continue their fine form to set up a showstopper clash on Friday with comfortable wins over Tsitsipas and Dimitrov respectively, whilst Casper Ruud awaits the winner of Sacha Zverev and Alex de Minaur.

Chris and Kim also consider Ons Jabeur’s critique of the French Open scheduling, how much of a factor illness played a part in the Sabalenka and Rybakina defeats, and whether Novak Djokovic is likely to miss the Wimbledon Championships in light of his recent injury.

  • Tennis Weekly are back to catch up on Round 3 action from Roland Garros. Kim is back from a wet Paris and joined by Joel to chat all things day 7 whilst we join Chris and Alina on site at the tournament for the talking points from day 6.

With Novak Djokovic winning through in 5 sets over Lorenzo Musetti in a 3am finish, Sacha Zverev fighting back from possible defeat at the hands of 26th seed Tallon Griekspoor, and one of the tournament hopes Madison Keys falling to fellow American Emma Navarro, there is plenty of action and drama to discuss.

Possible contender Daniil Medvedev also posted a good win over in form Thomas Machac, whilst top seeds Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Casper Ruud are all safely through to fourth round action with more comfortable scorelines.

Joel and Kim also look ahead to the 4th round matches that are catching their eye (FAA v Alcaraz anyone?) whilst Joel prepares for his exciting trip to the ITF100 event on the grass courts of Surbiton.

  • Rain, roofs and Rafa! It’s time for an admittedly damp French Open Round 1 catch-up as Joel is joined by Chris live in Paris to look back on all the action from the first three days in Paris.

It’s been an emotional last couple of days in tennis as Rafael Nadal bowed out of possibly his last Roland Garros to Alexander Zverev. Elsewhere, Andy Murray also exited with a losing effort to long time rival Stan Wawrinka and Alize Cornet got a home crowd career send off on Phillipe Chatrier.

It wasn’t all retirement chat though as Paris saw easy return to tour victories for Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner whilst Swiatek, Sabalenka and Rybakina all got their campaigns up and running with comfortable starts. This wasn’t the case though for British Tennis as the Brits endured a miserable few days on the clay. However this didn’t dampen spirits at Tennis Weekly HQ as Joel and Chris look forward to Round 2 and the exciting prospect of Swiatek vs. Osaka (!)

  • Roland Garros has rolled into town and the Tennis Weekly trio are here to round up the men’s and women’s singles draws from the French Open! They go quarter by quarter to analyze the top seeds’ chances given their respective draws, and select some early showstopper clashes and rogue deep runs to look out for. They also make their (potentially terrible) quarter by quarter predictions before revealing this edition’s player picks for the famous Tennis Weekly Collect A Set competition.

Will Novak Djokovic regain some form to capture his fourth French Open? Will Rafael Nadal be able to overcome a nightmare first round clash with Sasha Zverev? Will Danielle Collins spoil the Iga Swiatek clay party?

Tune in to find out the thoughts of Tennis Weekly, and prepare yourselves for Roland Garros to begin!

  • With Paris around the corner, the Tennis Weekly trio are back once again to round up all the action from the last week on tour, which saw Italian Open Champions Iga Swiatek and Sacha Zverev crowned in Rome.

With Swiatek continuing her dominance this season, dispatching Aryna Sabalenka to clinch her 3rd Italian Open, and Sacha Zverev defying surprise finalist Nicholas Jarry to win his biggest title in three years, there is plenty to discuss from the Foro Italico. Not to mention the successful weeks for three Americans - Tommy Paul, Coco Gauff and Danielle Collins.

The trio also catch up on the recent announcement of French Open wildcards, changes to the British Grass Court season from 2025 and they debate whether the term ‘Big 3’ is being overused on tour.

Joel also teases Kim and Chris's knowledge of retro Spanish players in the latest rendition of “Joel's Game”. One not to be missed!

  • From Madrid to Rome, the Tennis Weekly trio are back to bring you up to date on the Italian Open, which has seen Novak Djokovic face a water bottle scare before being ousted in a shock loss to Alejandro Tabilo. Meanwhile, Rafa Nadal succumbed to Hubert Hurkacz in his quest to find form and fitness before Roland Garros.

On the women's side of the draw, top seed Iga Swiatek continues smoothly through the draw, whilst Naomi Osaka has notched a few promising Top 20 wins before falling to Qinwen Zheng.

A flurry of retirements also await with Dominic Thiem and Camila Giorgi both announcing theirs (the latter with immediate effect and with questionable motive) and the trio also discuss the latest surge of player fronted Podcasts and whether they're a positive addition to the tennis world.

Kim also tests Joel and Chris with a slightly Eurovision inspired Mysterious Player.

  • It's finally over! After two weeks of action, the Madrid Masters has come to a close with Iga Swiatek coming through an epic final against Aryna Sabalenka to capture her first Madrid crown, and Andrey Rublev snapping his losing streak and overcome illness to claim his second 1000 event with a battle over surprise finalist Felix Auger-Aliassime.

With Madison Keys finding form to reach the semis, Rafa Nadal earning a few wins in his final (?) Madrid outing, plus retirements and withdrawals aplenty in the ATP draw, the trio chat through the highlights from the past week on tour.

They also look well ahead to the Billie Jean King Cup Finals draw in Seville in November, lament the ending of the TSITSIDOSA relationship recently announced on social media, reflect back on the infamous blue clay Madrid event of 2012 and make quarter by quarter predictions for the upcoming Rome Masters which have already got underway.

  • We review Challengers, the tennis romance film from Luca Guadagnino and Justin Kuritzkes starring Zendaya, Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist that has hit cinemas and taken the box office and tennis twitter by storm.

To unpack the film the Tennis Weekly threesome aren't asking for 'three tickets to Challengers please' rather four tickets as Culture Editor, critic and writer Sarah Carson of the The i Newspaper joins to keep them in check.

They discuss the tennis sequences, did we believe Zendaya as a top tennis player, was the film really about Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Mirka and ultimately was the film even about tennis? The delve into the topic of love triangles, pancake grips and bisexuality!

A fun Film Club edition and movie review that reveals what we really thought and allows tennis fans and the not so tennis invested to talk about the movie, what they liked and didn't like and ultimately how they rate the film.

    ABOUT CHALLENGERS

From visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court. Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist – West Side Story), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor – The Crown) – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, and tensions run high, Tashi must ask herself, what will it cost to win.

  • Tsitsipas is back to his best in Monte-Carlo and picks up his third title in the principality. The week in Monaco saw the Greek secure victories over Sinner, Ruud and Zverev as well as a surprise exit for Novak Djokovic, in the semi-finals of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

Elsewhere the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers were taking place, Emma Raducanu returned to form to lead Great Britain to victory against France. She picked up two come from behind wins and Katie Boulter bounced back from defeat to help seal the victory.

In Seville they will be joined by Japan, led by Naomi Osaka and the USA led by Jessica Pegula. There was heartbreak for Ukraine as they went down to Romanian from 2-0 up.

Joel and Chris discuss Andy Murray’s injury update, the prospect of Rafael Nadal back on tour, whether the ATP players are willing to play on used courts to allow for a WTA tournament at The Queen's Club the week prior and Kim joins in to ask the duo about Holger Rune, Medvedev and Rublev and whether their on court behaviour is good for the game.

Sebastian Baez also picked up another title on the clay with a solid week in Rio.
