BioSowmya Ayyar is a changemaker, founder of the Praful Urja Charitable Foundation, and Senior Research Scholar at the Malaviya Center for Peace Research at Banaras Hindu University. Her work focuses on empowering underserved communities through yoga and well-being practices, particularly addressing the needs of women, children, and trauma survivors. Sowmyaâs research delves into the role of spiritual women's communities (yogini sanghas) in diplomacy and peacebuilding. Guest BioBio: Parminder Vir OBE is a commercially focused executive with broad international experience in entrepreneurship, business development, and media. In a professional career spanning 40 years, she has dedicated her life to telling untold stories, particularly those of underserved communities, and resourcing the skills and imagination of these communities. In 2002, she was awarded an OBE for services to the Broadcasting and Film industry. Currently, she is writing a work memoir, weaving the diverse threads of a four-decade professional journey and offering a unique glimpse into the evolution of her career and the lessons learned along the way. This journey has fostered African Entrepreneurship, brought untold stories to the Film and Television screen, and fuelled creativity in the Arts and Culture.
As CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, she masterminded and executed a comprehensive entrepreneurship programme that significantly impacted over 10,000 African entrepreneurs in 54 African nations from 2014 to 2021. She continues to advocate for entrepreneurship as the best path for the continent's social and economic development, changing the African narrative through entrepreneur stories and helping shape the agenda for the growth of African entrepreneurship. Parminder Vir lends her strategic insights as an Advisory Board Member of Mamamoni Limited and HelpMum, contributes as a Narrative Advisor at Mustard Venture Agency, and is a director at Zikora Media and Arts Cultural Heritage Initiative, an inspirational cultural institution for Africa.
For over two decades, she enjoyed a distinguished career as a film and television producer with BBC, Carlton Television, and the CEO of her own production company, Formation Films. Parminder began her career in arts administration at the Greater London Council, funding a wide variety of ethnic minority artists and organizations, many of whom are internationally renowned today.

About Victor:
Victor Ochen is the Founder and Executive Director of AYINET, an organization providing essential reconstructive care, advocacy, and youth empowerment to communities affected by war in Uganda. Raised in a refugee camp amidst the violent conflict of northern Uganda, Victorâs career journey began at age 13, when he formed a Peace Club to stand against child soldier recruitment. Today, his work has transformed the lives of over 21,000 victims of war and empowered countless young people to take leadership in peace and justice. Victor is the youngest African ever nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace and Justice, and a global advocate for sustainable peace and SDG Goal 16. Mara Tissera Luna is an independent consultant and social anthropologist specializing in child protection, forced migration, and gender-based violence. She has worked with 16 universities, NGOs, and international agencies across 14 countries, using decolonial frameworks to advocate for social justice. Currently based in California, Mara is a fellow at Georgetown Universityâs Collaborative on Global Childrenâs Issues. Rachelâs career has taken her across five countries, where she has worked with thousands of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. She started as a Division One soccer player and then transitioned into coaching and teaching and then leadership development. Rachel also trained and competed in the sport of freediving which took her to different places around the world. Rachel currently coaches leaders, founders, athletes, and students, helping them develop key skills like motivation, confidence, and resilience. Sheâs based in Washington D.C., splitting her time between the U.S. and South America, and serves as Vice President of an environmental nonprofit. Rachel holds a masterâs in Applied Positive Psychology, which is the science of human flourishing.

Her work spans multiple sectors, particularly with international non-profit organizations.
MarĂa Antonia has contributed to art, peace culture Peacebuilding, and social transformation projects in Colombia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Japan. She has served as an advisor to the international NGO Peace Boat, promoting peace education programs, sustainable tourism, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. With a Master's Degree in Management of Social Innovation and Local Development, and as a Rotary Peace Fellow, a Positive Peace Activator and a Asia-Pacific Leadership program alumni, she has made significant strides in fostering peace and cultural citizenship.
Previously, MarĂa Antonia worked on Cultural Citizenship positions in Bogota and Medellin with the City halls leading projects of Art for social transformation.

He is currently a doctoral researcher pursuing dual Ph.D.s: one in Conflict Resolution and Management at the School of Social and Policy Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Tel Aviv University, under a postgraduate scholarship, and another in Neuroscience at the School of Medicine, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotå, Colombia, where he is an Award Fellow of the Academic Assistance Program Vice-Rectory.
As the founder of the Neuropaz initiative, Andrés brings together experts and communities to innovate in peace science. Since 2010, he has led the World Values Survey in Colombia and collaborated with the V-DEM Project. With a Master's in Behavioral and Decision Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master's in Philosophy, and extensive experience across Latin America, the US, Africa, and the Middle East, Andrés applies his expertise to public policy, social norms, and behavioral change communications, developing innovative interventions to overcome sociopsychological and cultural barriers. His consulting work spans these regions, focusing on applying behavioral science and technological innovations to create positive organizational dynamics and trust-building in weak institutional settings.

About Sushma: Sushma Raman is the President and CEO of the Heising-Simons Foundation, and serves on the Board of Directors. She is an interdisciplinary and experienced philanthropic leader, bringing over two decades of experience in launching, scaling, and leading social justice and philanthropic programs and collaboratives. This includes building the capabilities of grassroots human rights organizations and their leaders. Sushma has also taught graduate courses in the public policy schools at UCLA, USC, Tufts Fletcher School, andHarvard Kennedy School.
She serves as a Board Member at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2023, she was the Executive Director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy since 2015.
