I’m Grant Burks, your host, founder of a full-time video production business, and author of Film to Freedom. Today, we're tackling a heated topic in the industry: Should you work for free? Many videographers debate this question, but I believe there’s a time and place for free work — as long as it follows these three rules: 1. You call the shots – When you’re working for free, you should set the terms. 2. Get a testimonial – Make sure it’s beneficial for your reputation and portfolio. 3. Leverage it for marketing – Always get permission to use the video for future promotion. In this episode, I’ll share my personal experiences, from mistakes in the early days to finding the right clients who helped grow my business. Free work can be valuable, but only if it’s the right fit and leads to more opportunities. Plus, I’ll break down when to say no and when to say yes so you can effectively grow your business instead of wasting your time! đŸ”č Want to turn your videography business into a full-time, six-figure career?
