For most Christians, there is a disconnect between their own success and the Mission of Jesus. The reality that over 2 billion people are waiting to hear the gospel has little impact on their idea of success. Perhaps our idea of success has been influenced more by middle-class values than the teaching of Jesus, but we are unaware. We have blind spots. But success based on middle-class values harms us and the people we love.
