What ever your views on Christmas songs youâll love this bonus show, where the Wine & Vinyl Club unwrap their thoughts on Christmas songs. Just like Christmas, the episode exposes a whole range of emotions. Perhaps itâs because we got smashed off our faces drinking some spectacular Christmas beverages. Join us and have a laugh with a very Messy Christmas!
W&VC SPOTIFY PLAYLIST â Bonus Christmas Episode. This is a collection of songs from the album, along with some of the recommendations we made in the podcast episode. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3WxonAifnZVcha9gh7KnjK?si=3b39fcb200c24676
David brings a cold âSpiced Sangriaâ suitable for a Christmas down under, and a hot âVin chaudeâ version of the same drink for winters night.
Recipe: Make a spiced syrup. Finely grate an orange and lemon and mix with a œ cup of sugar. Cling wrap and leave overnight to infuse. The next day add the citrus sugar infusion to a cup of water and heat gently. Add 2 cloves, 2 star anise, 2 pepper corns, 4 crushed cardamom pods and a stick of cinnamon. When the sugar has dissolved, put a lid on the pan and turn off the heat. Let the syrup steep for an hour. Once cool, filter and refrigerate the syrup.
To a bottle of light fruity red such as a Pinot Noir, Gamay, or Grenache, I used a Dolan & Dunn, Mataro from the Barossa, South Australia. Add 2 shots of Grande Marnier and Cointreau, 2 cloves, 2, star anise, 2 pepper corns, 4 crushed cardamom pods and a stick of cinnamon. Add a chopped orange and lemon, then cover with cling wrap and let it sit overnight in the fridge.
For the Sangria, pour half a glass of wine and œ a shot of syrup to taste. Serve over ice, topped with soda water and a sprig of rosemary (optional). For the Vin chaude, warm the wine gently (do not let it boil) and then let it sit in the pan for 10 minutes. Add Serve in a mug with œ a shot of syrup to taste and a cinnamon stick (optional).
Christian brings a deliciously buttery $29 Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay, from Sonoma, California. https://www.kj.com/
Chris has riff on a classic Martinez cocktail, which he calls a âMessy Christmasâ.
Recipe: 1 œ shots of white rum (fat washed with butter, ginger, and cinnamon). 1 shot Maraschino cherry liqueur, and a dash of Vermouth Blanco. Serve in a chilled martini glass, with a glace cherry and ginger.

Chris suggests a couple of alternative Negroni style cocktails. The Boulevardier (Whisky, Campari and Vermouth Rosso) or the Contessa (Gin, Aperol and Vermouth Blanco).
For the wine why not compare a cooler climate Rhone Syrah against a warmer climate Californian Shiraz. Or a Margaret River Shiraz against a Shiraz from the Barossa in Sou

How did this album ever see the light of day? Everyone in the band was emotionally traumatized and coked to the gills, but somehow Fleetwood Mac still managed to produce one of the most popular albums of all time. This episode we discuss toilets, corks, sausage eating and of course, two wonderful wines and the album.
W&VC SPOTIFY PLAYLIST â S3. Ep2 Fleetwood Mac: Rumours. This is a collection of songs from the album, along with some of the recommendations we made in the podcast episode. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7LJyl9jS89rrV2LVPUgNP7?si=63d461b3dde54893

Great value at $55. https://www.fourthwavewine.com.au/pslink.cfm?refer=maretti-italia-home&pageReload=yesWhile Christian brings a delicate but very accessible $30 Wildside Pinot Noir, from a tiny producer in Tasmania called Bentleyâs Winery.

To celebrate the end of Season 2 for the W&VC, we have another Bonus Quiz for you.
Three rounds of questions. Davidâs music round, a wine round from Chris and then Christianâs quizarama round.
Three bottles of wine were consumed during the recording of this quiz, so unsurprisingly things dissolve into chaos by the end.
We had a lot of fun recording this, we hope you enjoy.

Thereâs a fair bit of disagreement about this album but not the wines, they are terrific. Is The Seldom Seen Kid by Elbow a romantic testament to love, a bag of sickly sweet love poems or pretentious artsy guff? You be the judge, when you listen to the Wine & Vinyl Club.
To match The Seldom Seen Kid, Christian brings an Italian white. The 2021 San Marzano Timo Vermentino. An elegant, refreshing and mineral wine with delicate white floral aromas combined with notes of thyme. https://sanmarzano.wine/
