Nia Wilson. She is us, we are her. Covering this case as two African-American women is not only sickening, it makes one feel unsafe anywhere. Nia Wilson was fatally stabbed in the neck after walking off a train with her sister in Oakland, California. She was about to graduate high school, thinking of joining the Army and had a serious love for fashion. Now her family has to plan her funeral. While we mourn the loss of Nia Wilson lets keep in mind that she was not the only victim in this attack. Her sister Lahtifa was also stabbed but survived the traumatizing experience. When will people begin to take accountability and take action over this serious issue that is heightened with race, but highlighted by death?
She is gone in the physical form, but her spirit lives on, like the rest of those fallen at the hands of a dysfunctional justice system.
Say her name.
Be the change.
As ALWAYS and more than ever we ENCOURAGE you all to do things with LOVE
