"28 lette og gode dandsestykker for Een violin componerede af Ole N Brækkan 1872" er utgangspunktet både for boka og podcastserien. Musikken i noteboka er 1870-tallets popmusikk, det vi i dag kaller gammeldansmusikk. Serien skal ta for seg gammeldansmusikken generelt, Ole Nilsen Brechans musikk og liv spesielt, nordmørsk, trøndersk og norsk tradisjonsmusikk og påvirkninga fra kontinentet.
