  • How the search for a missing deputy uncovered the Mojave Desert's meth epidemic, the outlaw bikers supplying it, and the corrupt police force covering it up.

On June 11, 1998, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy Jon Aujay went for a run in California’s Devil’s Punchbowl park. A long-distance runner and former military, Aujay felt at home in the rocky terrain, but when he didn’t return home by nightfall, his wife reported him missing. Nearly 30 years later, Aujay has yet to be found and the mystery surrounding his disappearance has only deepened.

Some say Aujay is just another missing hiker, claimed by the inhospitable landscape of the Southern California desert. Some say he took his own life out there. But there’s another theory that many of Aujay’s friends and LASD colleagues are convinced is true… that he was the victim of foul play, and that his own department is covering it up.

Through exclusive interviews, revealing wiretaps, and buried police files, investigative reporters Hayley Fox and Betsy Shepherd dig into what the sheriff’s department has kept hidden all these years.

Told over 8 episodes, Valley of Shadows follows the hairpin turns of the Aujay case, and breaks new ground in the search to uncover what really happened to the missing deputy. New episodes release on Mondays.

After being released from Lost Hills Station shortly after midnight, she disappeared. Eleven months later, her naked, skeletal remains were discovered in a canyon some six miles away.

Jami presents these stories in a straightforward, no-frills style. There’s no banter or distraction, just carefully organized facts that allow the gravity of each case to speak for itself. • The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's award-winning podcast "Breakdown," tells deeply human stories about the Georgia justice system. Season 11 explores how a young military couple found themselves at the center of something neither expected. Something terrible. Something… criminal.

  • An eighteen-year-old girl goes on a family cruise vacation and never comes home. Anna Kepner's body was found concealed beneath a bed in her stateroom aboard the Carnival Horizon — and the person accused of killing her was sleeping in the same cabin.

This is the case that stopped the true crime world cold. Not because it happened at sea, though that's part of it. Because of who allegedly did it, how it allegedly happened, and the federal prosecution that followed — one so rare it has legal experts across the country watching every single motion filed.

Anna Kepner's accused killer is her own teenage stepbrother, Timothy Hudson, now facing federal charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse as an adult. He has pleaded not guilty. A trial is set in Miami federal court. And the questions surrounding this case — about the family dynamics, the investigation aboard the ship, the decision to prosecute a minor in adult federal court, and whether justice will be served for Anna — are far from answered.

This podcast is your home for all of it. Deep investigative reporting. Exclusive interviews with legal analysts, behavioral experts, and people connected to the case. Full trial coverage when proceedings begin. And the kind of honest, no-nonsense breakdown you won't get anywhere else — because we've been covering this case from the beginning.

Hosted by Tony Brueski, a veteran true crime journalist, and featuring analysis from defense attorneys, former federal agents, and behavioral specialists, The Cruise Ship Murder Of Anna Kepner goes beyond the headlines to examine what happened aboard that ship, what's happening inside that courtroom, and what this case reveals about the systems that are supposed to protect people like Anna.

New episodes drop as the case develops. Subscribe now so you don't miss a single update.

  • Hidden deep in online forums, a growing subculture thrives on anger, isolation, and blame: incels, or “involuntary celibates.” Incels see themselves as rejected by women and overshadowed by so-called “Chads”—the confident, attractive men they believe they can never be. Their frustration often mutates into open hostility, harassment, and, in the most extreme cases, acts of violence.

Incels takes listeners inside this unsettling world—not to sensationalize it, but to understand it. Through expert analysis, first-hand accounts, and the voices of former incels, we break down how these communities operate, why they’re growing, and the psychological traps that keep men locked in cycles of resentment. With chilling stories and deep insight, Incels reveals the human cost of a culture built on hate—and the path forward for those ready to leave it behind.

  • American companies are being infiltrated—not by hackers breaking in, but by workers. Thousands of North Korean operatives are applying to jobs across the U.S.—and getting them. They are embedding themselves at Fortune 500 companies. Government agencies. Critical infrastructure. Even the firms tasked with stopping this threat. To Catch a Thief: North Korea On Our Payroll is a first-of-its-kind audio documentary exposing this global labor pipeline—one that is quietly funneling hundreds of millions of dollars a year back to the regime, and its nuclear weapons program. Host Nicole Perlroth, bestselling author and former lead cybersecurity and digital espionage reporter for The New York Times, takes listeners inside this hidden network—from a rare, inside look at a North Korean IT worker on the job, to interviews with defectors who escaped it, to knocking on the doors of Americans hosting “laptop farms” on North Korea's behalf.Along the way, the series reveals how this playbook is creating a hiring freeze for American workers, in a challenging job market. And how it has metastasized—adopted by cybercriminal groups and fraud networks around the world—blurring the line between nation-state espionage and organized crime. To Catch a Thief is co-produced by Nicole Perlroth and Rubrik in partnership with Pod People. To Catch a Thief was written and produced by Nicole Perlroth, along with Khrista Rypl, T. J. Raphael, Rebecca Chaisson and Sam Gebauer. Additional thanks to Allie Pinel, Fendall Fulton, Krissy Clark, Cai Lee, Eunice Park and Aimee Machado. Editing and Sound Design by Erica Huang. • Introducing... Hoaxed, the new series from Alexi Mostrous and Tortoise, who brought you Sweet Bobby.

In 2014, two children told police a shocking story: that they were being abused by a Satanic cult; a cult headed by their father and by parents and teachers at their school in the wealthy London suburb of Hampstead. The story was a lie. But on the internet, that didn't matter.

Hoaxed is an investigation into one of Britain's most serious-ever conspiracy theories. A story about a modern-day Satanic panic; about the victims whose lives were destroyed and about the conspiracists who spread the lie around the world. Oh, and it's about our hunt for the perpetrators - the people who forced the kids to lie - the ones who started it all.

All 6 episodes are available now to listen for free. You can listen to the full series ad-free and get access to exclusive bonus content by downloading the Tortoise audio app or subscribing to Tortoise+ on Apple podcasts. Why did we lose Amy Winehouse at 27? Was Debbie Harry really abducted by Ted Bundy as she claims? Is Patti Smith not just the "Godmother of Punk", but also the "Original True Crime Girl"? The Dead, the Stones, Johnny, Willie, Frank, Kurt, Courtney, Gaga, Lana, Taylor, and too many to name.

DISGRACELAND is music history come to life through audio storytelling as you've never heard it before, with revealing facts: yes, assassins are the real reason the Beatles quit touring—reclaimed myths: no, Mama Cass didn't die from choking on a ham sandwich––and constant reckoning between art and artist––all told through the lens of true crime.

  • The Meditations is a timeless reflection on life, divided into 12 insightful books that chronicle the journey of Marcus Aurelius. Written for his personal contemplation, the text presents Stoic wisdom in a clear and relatable manner, inviting readers to engage with his profound thoughts. At the heart of this work is the theme of self-examination and the cultivation of a cosmic perspective. As Marcus wisely noted, You have the power to strip away many superfluous troubles located wholly in your judgment. He guides readers to understand their place in the universe, where all things emerge from nature and ultimately return to it. Additionally, he emphasizes the importance of focus and ethical living, encouraging a path that avoids excessive indulgence in sensory pleasures. By mastering one’s reactions, he asserts that true harm can be avoided. A universal order, or logos, flows through existence, and through rationality, one can live harmoniously, rising above flawed perceptions of good and bad.

  • Emma is a high achieving, middle class girl from west London. She seems destined for a successful career in banking and a comfortable British life. Until she makes a decision that will come to define her. In 2001 Emma marries Bashar al-Assad - the now infamous dictator of Syria.

In the early days, people inside and out of Syria dared to hope. Alongside his beautiful, progressive wife, Bashar promised to modernise the country.

But when the Arab Spring reached Syria in 2011, Bashar's regime showed itself for what it really was: a brutal force, willing to capture and kill ordinary Syrians demanding change. And in all the years that a war raged on, Asma stands by her husband. She seemingly ignored the desperate pleas to stop her husband from killing his own people.

But what did she really know about the atrocities her husband’s government was carrying out? And what choices did she really have? Some people allege that she actually assisted the regime and cashed in on the war, that she herself is a war criminal. Others say she tried to run away but was trapped, held hostage by a regime who threatened her life and her children.

So, who is the real Emma?

  • The Epstein Files is the first AI-native documentary podcast to systematically analyze the Jeffrey Epstein case at scale. With over 3 million pages of DOJ documents, court records, flight logs, and public resources now available, traditional journalism simply cannot process this volume of information. AI can.

This series leverages artificial intelligence at every layer of production. From custom-built architecture that ingests and cross-references millions of pages of evidence, to AI-generated audio that delivers findings in a consistent, accessible format, this project represents a new model for investigative journalism. What would take a newsroom years to analyze, AI can process in days, surfacing connections, patterns, and details that would otherwise remain buried in the sheer volume of data.

Each episode draws directly from primary sources: unsealed court documents, FBI files, the black book, flight logs, victim depositions, and the DOJ's ongoing document releases. The AI architecture identifies relevant passages, cross-references names and dates across thousands of files, and synthesizes findings into episodes that make this information digestible for the public.

The series covers Epstein's mysterious rise to wealth, his network of enablers, the properties where crimes occurred, the 2008 sweetheart deal, his death in federal custody, the Maxwell trial, and the unanswered questions that remain.

This is not sensationalized content. It is documented fact, processed at scale, and presented with journalistic rigor. The goal is simple: make the public record accessible to the public.

New episodes release as additional documents become available, with AI enabling rapid analysis and production that keeps pace with ongoing revelations. Our Standards AI enables scale, but journalistic standards guide the output. Every claim is tied to specific documents. The series clearly distinguishes between proven facts and allegations. Victim testimony is handled with dignity. Names that appear in documents are not accused of wrongdoing unless documents support such claims.

This is documented fact, processed at scale, presented for the public.

Produced by the Neural Broadcast Network.

Rob Moore had a successful career in television until one day he ran out of ideas. After a stint as a gardener, a more enticing door was opened for him. He was offered a job in the shadowy world of corporate intelligence - he became a spy.

Tasked with working undercover to extract information from an environmental campaign group, Rob Moore says he eventually became sympathetic to the campaigners’ aims. He decided to turn on his employers and support the group he was meant to be infiltrating. Only it wasn’t that straightforward. He never told the campaigners who he really was and he never told his spymasters what he was really doing. Neither side knew the whole truth.

That was until 2016, when after years of being in control of these two disparate worlds he was unexpectedly outed. Now, the campaigners see him as a traitor who betrayed their trust. He sees himself as a misunderstood whistleblower.

From the team that brought you Sweet Bobby, and over three years in the making, Into The Dirt is a story about truth, spies and the stories we tell ourselves

  • For eighty years, the Second World War has remained the most devastating and defining conflict in human history. World War II with Tom Hanks reexamines the war through the lens of a new century. Told over twenty hours and guided by Tom Hanks, whose lifelong passion for this history has shaped some of the most profound screen portrayals of the era, the series captures the full arc of the war — from the rise of fascism in Europe to the fall of Berlin, from Pearl Harbor to Hiroshima, and the uneasy peace that follows. Each episode uncovers new dimensions of the conflict: the decisions that shaped the battlefield, the unseen networks that sustained the war effort, and the aftershocks that still shape our world today. World War II with Tom Hanks is the definitive retelling of that story for a new generation: a sweeping, deeply human portrait of how the modern world was forged in the fires of global war.

  • Who Shat On The Floor At My Wedding? was a question shared by brides Helen McLaughlin and Karen Whitehouse after they tied the knot on 11 August, 2018 on a boat in Amsterdam. It was a question that launched a podcast, which led to the hiring of unqualified detective Lauren Kilby, the purchase of a €99 lie detector, and the bothering of some of the world’s best forensic experts - all in an attempt to find out “poo dunnit”.

For season 2, the investigative trio take on a brand new mystery set in Sweden (Scandi Noir if you will) called The Case Of The Tiny Suit/Case.

For season 3, the unqualified detectives attempt to solve real non-crime crimes and ridiculous mysteries submitted by YOU - our precious listeners. Their selection criteria for new cases is simple: “Anything the police laugh at is a case for us.” And because ‘time is money’, all cases need to be cracked within 24 hours.

  • Learn from history's greatest entrepreneurs. Every week I read a biography of an entrepreneur and find ideas you can use in your work.

This quote explains why: "There are thousands of years of history in which lots and lots of very smart people worked very hard and ran all types of experiments on how to create new businesses, invent new technology, new ways to manage etc. They ran these experiments throughout their entire lives. At some point, somebody put these lessons down in a book. For very little money and a few hours of time, you can learn from someone’s accumulated experience. There is so much more to learn from the past than we often realize. You could productively spend your time reading experiences of great people who have come before and you learn every time." —Marc Andreessen
