On June 11, 1998, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy Jon Aujay went for a run in California’s Devil’s Punchbowl park. A long-distance runner and former military, Aujay felt at home in the rocky terrain, but when he didn’t return home by nightfall, his wife reported him missing. Nearly 30 years later, Aujay has yet to be found and the mystery surrounding his disappearance has only deepened.

Some say Aujay is just another missing hiker, claimed by the inhospitable landscape of the Southern California desert. Some say he took his own life out there. But there’s another theory that many of Aujay’s friends and LASD colleagues are convinced is true… that he was the victim of foul play, and that his own department is covering it up.

Through exclusive interviews, revealing wiretaps, and buried police files, investigative reporters Hayley Fox and Betsy Shepherd dig into what the sheriff’s department has kept hidden all these years.

Lost Hills investigates the dark side of Malibu, California. Beneath a seductive facade, this city of billionaires, celebrities, and surf bums is hiding something menacing.

On September 16, 2009, 24-year-old Mitrice Richardson was arrested by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for failing to pay her bill at a restaurant in Malibu, CA. After being released from Lost Hills Station shortly after midnight, she disappeared. Eleven months later, her naked, skeletal remains were discovered in a canyon some six miles away.

For nearly 15 years, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Mitrice’s friends and family, and generations of internet sleuths have tried to crack the case.

To this day, her death remains an unsolved mystery.

The truth lies in the remote Malibu community where Mitrice was last seen. And now, finally, people are starting to talk.

An eighteen-year-old girl goes on a family cruise vacation and never comes home. Anna Kepner's body was found concealed beneath a bed in her stateroom aboard the Carnival Horizon — and the person accused of killing her was sleeping in the same cabin.

Anna Kepner's accused killer is her own teenage stepbrother, Timothy Hudson, now facing federal charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse as an adult. He has pleaded not guilty. The Case Of is the follow-up to the hit podcast Mushroom Case Daily, and all episodes of that show will remain available in the back catalogue of The Case Of.

The response to Mushroom Case Daily was overwhelming, with more than 8,000 emails from listeners, many of them noting how the coverage had given them unprecedented insight into Australia's criminal judicial system. We decided to convert the podcast into an ongoing trial coverage feed to continue delivering on this front, following cases that capture the public's attention.

The Airbnb Guest

Maree Vermont was 60 years old and living in a beautiful stone house she built by hand, when a guest she hosted via Airbnb changed everything.

UK national Timothy Loosemore booked a one-night stay, but weeks later he remained at the property, finding ways to make himself useful. Then one night the house went up in flames, with Maree inside. Days later, Timothy Loosemore was charged with her murder.

In The Case Of The Airbnb Guest, Bendigo reporter Anna McGuinness walks through the June 2026 trial, and explains why this jury was not the first, but the third jury Loosemore faced.

Sharon's Disappearance's follows the murder trial of her husband, 40 years after her disappearance in Perth. Full of bizarre twists and clues, the trial for Robert Fulton — now Raymond Reddington — covered life insurance claims, secret recordings, anonymous tip offs and real-life serial killers.

With no body or weapon, and mostly circumstantial evidence, the prosecution had a difficult task to prove this cold case to a jury.

Maree Crabtree follows the trial of Gold Coast mother Maree Crabtree, who was accused of murdering two of her children, five years apart. She was tried and acquitted for Jonathan's murder, and later prosecutors dropped the murder charge relating to her daughter Erin's death.

The Two Intruders follows a cold case of Irma Palasics's murder. For decades, police hunted for the two intruders who robbed Palasics's Canberra home in 1999, leaving 72-year-old Irma Palasics dead, and her husband Gregor badly beaten.

Wheelie Bin Murder follows the trial of Sheree Glastonbury and three co-accused, including Sheree's current partner, Mark Murphy. Prosecutors allege Sheree Glastonbury overdosed her former partner Geoffrey McLean, then disposed of his torso in a wheelie bin.

Toyah's Murder, which follows the trial of 41-year-old Rajwinder Singh, charged for the murder of 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley, who was killed when she went for a walk with her dog on one of north Queensland's idyllic beaches, in 2018.

Kumanjayi Walker, a six-part series revisiting the murder trial and coronial inquest that followed the police shooting of a young Walpiri man in Yuendumu, in 2019.

Easey St Murders, which follows the committal hearing for alleged killer Perry Kouroumblis, who police believe attacked Suzanne Armstrong and Susan Bartlett in their Melbourne terrace house.

Snowtown Parole, which follows serial killer James Vlassakis's parole proceedings.

Romance Scam, which follows the trial and appeal of Perth woman Donna Nelson, who was charged with drug trafficking in Japan.

Croc Wrangler, which follows the reality star and Northern Territory celebrity Matt Wright, charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice related to the investigation of a fatal helicopter crash.

Mushroom Lunch continues to follow all proceedings related to Erin Patterson's triple murder conviction in July 2025.

Hi, I’m Courtney Duinker, host of the Waiting Well Podcast… I remember how it felt five years in to our infertility story, standing in the aisle of Target right after a failed IUI treatment, holding back tears as I reached for a box of tampons when a couple who was clearly expecting came down the aisle. They were smiling as they talked while holding a new pack of diapers. My heart sank. I couldn’t help the one question bubbling to the surface as my heartache over not conceiving overwhelmed me…. will it ever be my turn? I felt forgotten, lost and wanted to tap out of the roller coaster of infertility we seemed to be stuck on.

I didn’t know how to find peace with God. I wrestled to believe or see His goodness. And at one point, my faith felt completely shattered. I felt so alone in our pain & suffering. As we faced questions around treatment options, I was so confused. What was God’s plan? What were we supposed to do? I so desperately wanted to honor God even with our fertility journey. But I wrestled with how.

This is what led to creating The Waiting Well.
A virtual “well” where TTC women can come together and be equipped with God’s Word, encouraged, challenged and ultimately supported as we learn to wait well on God’s timing.

Each week I’ll share faith-based encouragement from my own infertility journey, provide information from expert guests on navigating infertility/TTC, powerful testimonials, answer common questions with scripture and share top tips on stewarding your health through this demanding journey.

My mission is to equip you to live an “even if” life… Even if God doesn’t answer my prayer, or grant me this desire to be a mother, I will still praise Him. He is still good. And my life, my identity, my worth is a sure thing I find in Him alone.
