(The Drop)
(The Drive)
(The Reset)

This is a podcast by members of the Socialist Party in Naarm (Melbourne). We hope to bring a radical perspective to a podcast landscape dominated by insipid liberalism (looking at you, The Daily). The pod will come out weekly, and aims to breakdown news and current events from a socialist point of view. While a lot of what’s going on in the world is fairly bleak, The Party Line will try and highlight voices of resistance and struggle.
If you like what you hear, please subscribe on whatever podcast service you use, and share it with your friends, colleagues and comrades. We will always release our shows for free, to make sure everyone who wants to listen can do so. But if you are in a position to support us financially then sign up at patreon.com/thepartyline.
If you find yourself agreeing with the pod more often than not, please consider signing up to join your local branch of the Socialist Party at socialists.org.au. We need your help to build a fighting socialist movement in this country, one that can take on both the far right and its centrist enablers such as Albanese.
The Party Line is definitely NOT authorised by C Oakley, PO Box 243 Canberra. (The views and opinions expressed in our show are ours and ours alone, and do not reflect on the Socialist Party or Victorian Socialists.)

Governments, the economy and civil society depend on the public’s trust to work effectively – but this trust is declining in an age of polarisation and misinformation. The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that this “malady of mistrust” is as damaging as COVID or climate change.
We don’t talk much about trust – but we certainly notice when it breaks down, in corporate scandals or political coups. But in a time when many are losing faith in our most vital institutions, how can the bonds of trust be rebuilt?
In Time for Trust, Terry Flew will explore these themes with leading experts on trust, from academics and journalists to community leaders, both from Australia and around the world.
Professor Flew holds a prestigious Laureate Fellowship from the Australian Research Council. He’s particularly interested in “mediated trust” – that is, forms of trust and mistrust as they are expressed in and through the digital media technologies we use to make sense of the world.
From trust in news to trust in digital platforms, from trust in corporations and governments to trust in AI, “Time for Trust” will ask – who, and what, do we trust, have we lost that trust, and can we get it back? And are technologies bringing us together or driving us apart?
Join us for a fascinating journey through one of the most important issues facing people and societies everywhere. Because Billy Joel was right – it is a matter of trust.
Time for Trust is brought to you by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney, and the Australian Research Council. It's produced by Dominic Knight, and recorded on unceded Gadigal Land.

The Modern Regulator Podcast is for regulators and regulatory-adjacent professionals who care about how regulation actually works in practice: stewardship, capability, posture, enforcement, and the decisions that do not always make it into policy documents or academic papers.
Hosted by Paul Leavoy and Simon Corden, each episode features a practitioner or thinker with something substantive to say about the craft of regulation. Our focus is on Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other stable democracies where the quality of regulatory practice shapes the quality of public life.
