We want to help you see the teachings of Jesus in the movies you love.
"Credits" is a podcast where we take a look at movies through a biblical lens. We believe that many times the most powerful moments or ideas in cinema resonate with viewers like us because they are a reflection of something true. Scripture is our ultimate basis for truth, and we believe that the story of Jesus is the greatest story ever told. So we think that filmmakers can unknowingly illustrate powerful truths from God’s word in their art. -

The Cyropaedia (or Cyropedia) is a partly fictional biography of Cyrus the Great, written in the early 4th century BC by the Athenian gentleman-soldier, and student of Socrates, Xenophon of Athens. The title Cyropaedia derives from Greek, meaning "The Education of Cyrus". Aspects of it would become a model for medieval writers of the genre known as mirrors for princes. In turn it was a strong influence upon the most well-known but atypical of these, Machiavelli's The Prince, which was an important influence in the rejection of medieval political thinking, and the development of modern politics. However, unlike most "mirrors of princes", and like The Prince, whether or not the Cyropaedia was really intended to describe an ideal ruler is a subject of debate. - Summary by Wikipedia

In this 5-minute monologue Sofia walks you through a compact, repeatable 'café formula'—the exact phrases, clear European Portuguese pronunciation, and quick role-play you need to order coffee, ask for WiโFi, compliment a pastel de nata, and start friendly small talk. Designed for digital nomads in Lisbon, Porto or Madeira, the episode emphasizes survival vocabulary (ordering, paying, basic pleasantries), realistic phrasing you’ll actually hear, and cultural tips to turn brief encounters into warm local connections. Sofia role-plays both sides so learners can hear rhythm and reply patterns, then gives a short nomad story that explains why these lines matter for integration. The episode ends with a short practice challenge and a clear CTA to visit_site for transcripts and extra exercises. No Brazilian variants, no academic grammar overload—just practical European Portuguese you can use today.

From the Yellow River valley's first Neolithic settlements to the skyscrapers of modern Shanghai, China's history is an epic of unbroken civilization, imperial ambition, revolution, and global resurgence. Lucas and Luna guide listeners through five millennia of dynastic cycles: the Shang's oracle bones, the Warring States' philosophical ferment, Qin Shi Huang's terracotta legions, and the Han dynasty's Silk Road opening. They explore Tang cosmopolitanism, Song economic revolution, Mongol conquest under Kublai Khan, and Ming maritime expeditions of Zheng He. The Qing's Manchu rule, the Opium Wars' humiliation, the Taiping Rebellion's devastation, and the 1911 Revolution's fall of the last emperor lead into the fractured Republic, the Long March, Mao's socialist transformation, the Great Leap Forward's famine, and the Cultural Revolution's chaos. The series concludes with Deng Xiaoping's market reforms, Tiananmen, and China's rise as a manufacturing superpower, questioning its future as a global hegemon. Along the way, Lucas and Luna debate how Confucianism shaped governance, why the Great Wall failed repeatedly, and whether China's 'one history' narrative obscures regional diversity. This is not a simple timelineโit's a conversation about resilience, power, and the stories we tell about the Middle Kingdom.
