Dabei geht es mir primär darum, zu verstehen, was ich noch nicht weiß. Die unterschiedlichen Gäste bei mir am Tisch ermöglichen mir, meinen Horizont zu erweitern. Mir ist egal, ob jemand links oder rechts steht, grün, weiß oder braun ist. Ich möchte verstehen, was ich von diesem Menschen lernen kann. 



Besonders reizen mich kontroverse Gäste: Was kann ich von einem Menschen lernen, der nicht der Norm entspricht? Da ich meine Podcasts nicht schneide, brauchen meine Gäste sich nicht sorgen, aus dem Zusammenhang geschnitten zu werden. Du erlebst Menschen bei mir also viel wahrhaftiger, als z.B. im TV. 



So entstehen Gespräche, die nicht nur mich, sondern (hoffentlich) auch dich weiterbringen.

Salut, c'est Hugo! I created this podcast in 2017 when I was teaching at the French institute in Warsaw, Poland. My goal was to show my students that they could learn French naturally simply by listening to it. 30 million downloads later, I think we're onto something!

Granted, it's not a magic bullet. This method still requires hundreds of hours of practice. That's why I'm doing my best to make these episodes as engaging as possible. I want you to get sucked into the topics so deep you forget that you're "learning French". You'll quickly realize that you're capable of understanding a lot more French than you think.

The episodes get progressively more challenging, so I'd recommend starting from the oldest ones and working your way up. From episode 92, I'm joined by Ingrid, a French journalist and teacher, for more conversational style episodes.

Sabine Rückert, Redakteurin für besondere Aufgaben der ZEIT, ist Expertin für Verbrechen und deren Bekämpfung. Tocqueville's nine-month road trip took him to the frontier, to the South and, eventually, to the White House. It spawned his masterpiece: “Democracy in America”. Many people still consider this book the single most insightful piece of writing on America. John Prideaux, The Economist’s US editor, is one of them.
